Tina decided that this just wasn't for her and lucky for us, she figured it out after the first episode of the show.  Luckily, one of our other finalists was still very interested in Becoming Ultra, so, we introduce her on today's show. Becoming Ultra follows the journey to becoming an ultra runner from day one of training!

Feb 8, 2017

My First Ultra is a purely entertaining account of random runners and their first ultra.  Whether they completed it or failed horribly we figure someone out there will learn something.  Did they hallucinate, eat enough, chafe their little legs off?  Listen and find out!  Warning...eff bombs on this episode. She couldn't help herself.

On this episode our host talks about why running in an organized event isn't always the best option.  Sometimes you just need to run for your self and leave the extrinsic motivators out of the equation.  Also, the team people from all over the country (yes we can say that now) are signing up for and why Scott is running 62 miles on his dad's birthdays.  His why's may be similar to yours.

Jan 21, 2017

On this episode we sort through all of the applications and finally, to two lucky runners who will be featured as the Becoming Ultra Season 4 runners!  What is their "why"? Are they too experienced?  Did someone pee on the floor?  Yeah, you'll just have to listen to this one!

Look, Liza has no problem if you are wearing basketball shorts and cotton socks and you pass her.  It's just that, this doesn't usually happen.  A show about trusting a diagnoses and when no, you aren't getting old, you aren't fat, and you aren't out of shape.  Listening to our bodies and when we should, and should not push. There is also a case for finishing even when it isn't pretty.

This show and all others in the series are about helping first time ultra runners and runners in general. Thanks for listening.

Nov 12, 2016

The girls are back on Becoming Ultra to share some more adventure in the world of ultra running and adventure.

Sep 26, 2016

Our host had an experience on the treadmill and the same day found some science to support it.  Is fatigue totally in your head?  Also, DNFing is such a daunting concept.  Most of us have been there or will be one day but what about focusing on the startline and letting the cards fall where they may.

Enjoy this episode of the Becoming Ultra show!
