Ian Sharman is back to catch us up on all things in his running world including a crazy year at the Leadville 100, which he won again.  He also talks about recovery and other goings on in the ultra running world.

Enjoy the show!

Heath is a few weeks into his training plan and is dealing with a couple typical niggles that runners experience when ramping up volume so we address those issues.  Liza was across the world on Reunion Island racing.  It didn't go as planned but there are lessons to be learned as always!

Susan has quite the story.  Losing a brother to a car accident and getting hit by one only a few years later changed her "why" when it came to running.  She is training for a desert 50k from the beach and those challenges are both interesting and exciting for both coach and runner.  Enjoy getting to know her on this episode!

Rebekah just got done with her 50 miler and it was NOT a  great experience.  It happens.  What you do next is what really matters. This coaching call was about that next thing.  Gaining the confidence in the process and yourself so you can dive in and go for it.

Eli is in week two of her training with coach Zach Bitter.  She has lots of great questions most newbies probably have as well. Enjoy the show!

James has a 50k on Saturday and yes, the words 5k race did appear in the schedule.  He promised he wouldn't "race" it though. Listen to his prep and all about the first year 50k event with the funky first vs. second half topography.

Be sure to wish him luck!

Rebekah comes to the show as a referral from one of our other coaches, Liza!  That's pretty awesome really. She is training for the Zion 100k. Like most of our runners, she has a family and busy work/life balance so figuring out how to get the most out of her training during a Chicago winter will be interesting and fun!

Enjoy the show and we hope you learn something today!

Jen Cryblskey is another runner from San Antonio.  With a busy work schedule and going back to school, and having a family, she has some interesting obstacles for her training.  We find out what motivates her and what she is training for on this first show!

Enjoy.  Also, reach out to her and tell her you are rooting for her!

James Wright stays home with his 3 kids, has a popular YouTube channel to manage and calls running his hobby.  Working around these variables and his wife's schedule is the first piece of the puzzle.  Then, we just talk expectations of the training and let James get ready for his 50k in the next couple weeks!

The Be Accountable Coaching (BAC) program is in it first season.  It's a chance to listen in on live coaching calls and to support someone training for something big!

We hope you enjoy.

What are some things to consider in the very first weeks of training for your first ultra?  How to trust your coach early on in the process.  Liza test's new electrolyte mixture during her 50 miler last week.  It didn't go so well.

Enjoy the show!

The Be Accountable Coaching program is the solution to scaling accountability within a community created online and on a podcast.  We hope you come along the way and support the runners and the movement!  This is a short show about why and how this is going to work!

Oct 8, 2017

Heath Thomas of San Antonio is making a comeback to running.  Find out where his training is now and how Liza is going to get him started with his training.  This is the first time the coach and runner have met as well.  Enjoy the show!

Oct 7, 2017

Eli Nettles will be coached by Zach Bitter on Season 5 of the Becoming Ultra Project. Learn about her and listen to her first interaction with her coach!  It's going to be an interesting season as always!
