Will has been big time since our last call and we didn't even have to get on his case this call! He had a great experience in his first 6 hour timed event in Vegas. He even saw Elvis. He got to test out the trails at Smith Rock which was awesome as well and he ran fast on one of his training sessions. So much faster that it got Ellie's attention and had to be addressed. Also, Ellie gets called out for being amazing! Enjoy the show.
Emily got back on track, then missed a couple. Dealing with doubt on the way to a big goal is completely normal. We dive in on that subject today!
Will is plugging away in the rainy and muddy Northwest and it led to a bigger conversation of mindset in less than ideal conditions. Most of you will be able to relate. Keep it positive in your training and the race should be much easier. Enjoy.
Josh Jones is a Doctor of Physical Therapy based out of western North Carolina. On this episode we answer listener questions on injuries specific to them. Stress fractures in the feet. Ankle sprains and breaks. Hip flexor strains and general function. Achilles issues. We are only answering a few of these for each call so we dive a bit deeper and give actionable advice. Don't worry, Josh and your host Scott Jones have quite the history together so we will be sure to mix stories of adventure in to these for you all! Enjoy.
If you are ready to go and run in the beautiful landscapes in Page, Arizona this spring, this is a must listen to show. We talk with the Antelope Canyon Ultras race director about everything you need to know about the race. Enjoy!
Emily and Ian catch us up on her running and other life stuff! We go into our weekly slang segment too!
This one hits hard. Scott had a chance to sit down with a couple local Colorado friends to tell their stories. Both lost spouses at a young age. Both had young kids at the time. Both use exercise and running as a way to grieve. Their kids went to school together but they never met until recently. It's a both sad yet hopeful story and we hope you appreciate their amazing and heartfelt words.
Liza Howard and Scott Jones take some time to talk about all things running and coaching with our ever changing culture. On this episode they talk about the idea of using performance tools and when it is just too much. Specifically, the Nike Vaporfly controversy. They also touch on missed runs in training programs and when seeking too much information as a new runner might be too much! Enjoy the show! Have questions? Let us know and we will feature them on the next show!
