Look, Liza has no problem if you are wearing basketball shorts and cotton socks and you pass her. It's just that, this doesn't usually happen. A show about trusting a diagnoses and when no, you aren't getting old, you aren't fat, and you aren't out of shape. Listening to our bodies and when we should, and should not push. There is also a case for finishing even when it isn't pretty.
This show and all others in the series are about helping first time ultra runners and runners in general. Thanks for listening.
Steven is surprised about something he didn't plan for for his first marathon. You will probably be able to relate. That and more from his first marathon. Liza and Scott are just here for comic relief today.

It was like Christmas speaking with the legend Andrew Hamilton and satisfying our (okay, Tory's) obsession with 14ers and FKTs. The Nolan's and 14er record holder humbly inspires and educates us on how to be a badass male unicorn.
The girls are back on Becoming Ultra to share some more adventure in the world of ultra running and adventure.
Our host had an experience on the treadmill and the same day found some science to support it. Is fatigue totally in your head? Also, DNFing is such a daunting concept. Most of us have been there or will be one day but what about focusing on the startline and letting the cards fall where they may.
Enjoy this episode of the Becoming Ultra show!

Moriah hails from Northeast Pennsylvania and started running about 5 years ago. It wasn't until she recently found trail running that she feels she truly found her passion. There will be blood, and bones showing, mud, and lots more to learn from her first experiences as an ultra runner. We just hope you pick something up from her!
Today's show was originally released on the Athlete On Fire show but sometimes the story just needs to be told. We all know someone who has overcome big things in their own life or we need to be that person that does. This is one of those stories. Nothing more magical than someone who decides to truly change for the better. This person just happens to run ultras now!
Steven keeps hitting the boredom point around mile 8-10. It's gonna happen every once in awhile. You can listen to shows, music, and apparently, "Murder She Wrote." You can also play some mental games without electronics and of course, find people to run with. We talk about any and all of this on the Becoming Ultra show today!

Not unlike running an ultra, we are in it for the long haul and hope you'll be a part of this. Thanks for listening!

This picking show is always pretty fun but inevitably we always wonder if we made the right choice after it's all said and done. Will the runner respect the process? Will they flake? Will they give up at the first sign of adversity? Did the other runners offer more?
After it's all said and done, there is no bad choice. A bunch of runners who want to experience something EPIC have put themselves out there. We are excited to help the runner we picked and hope that you all will get involved in this community of support and passion for BEcoming Ultra.
