Scott and Steph talk about all the goings on and more on this weekly show!

Mar 28, 2019

Kathryn is a runner and athlete with some legit experience and she still comes into the call with tons of great, insightful questions.  Should she get hiking poles?  Nutrition?  When should she do her strength work?  It was a great call and most runners will be able to relate!

Mar 28, 2019

Trevor is nailing the early training.  Since he started the training fairly limited due to a hernia surgery we wanted to be sure to ramp him up slowly. The only big point in the call was a tight spot in his glutes so we talk about that a bit as well as the upcoming training!

Mar 22, 2019

Chelsea is in week two of training with Ellie for her first ultra and things are looking great.  Her knee is better and her running partner is strong.  She also upgraded her GPS so we talk about that as well!

Mar 22, 2019

Jackie is adjusting to a new schedule and new priorities as many runners do early with a coach dictating their efforts.  Over three weeks she has consistently gotten better and made the adjustments.  She has many questions about early training and how to attack it!  Enjoy.

Mar 22, 2019

What to think about when you have time to think?  That is much of what goes on for the taper for many runners.  So, we talk about mindset for a good portion of today's call. Enjoy!

Nutrition is a huge component to our life that can make a difference in how we perform physically and emotionally.  Make sure you are fueling your body to provide it the nutrients it needs for energy and recovery.  I provide tips on how to assure you are giving yourself the best advantage to fuel your day with good foods and good habits.  This is definitely a topic we will address several more times.

Beast Mode Challenge

Pick one of the three challenges to complete this week to push yourself outside your comfort zone and feel amazed with what you CAN do!

#1 Stair Challenge- Run up 10 flights (more or less but 10 if you have 10) and when you get to the top do 10 burpees...repeat 10 times to get a total of 100 burpees and a LOT of stairs.  Do this at least twice this week and feel the burn!!!

#2 Strength Workouts- Pick 3 workouts (pushups, pull ups, lunges, squats, burpees, etc.) and do 10 of each every hour for 8 hours.  Complete this workout at least 3 times this week to get your heart pumping throughout the day, build strength and feel great!

#3 Walk/Run- Walk/Run for at least 30 minutes every day this week.

Scott and Steph sit down to talk about the week that was from comparing The Dawn Wall, a movie about rock climbing in Yosemite, to running to what to do when your shoes are crazy muddy.  We get to talking about other running things as well.  Also, our new training program, The First Half, is now available for pre sale.  It goes live on April 1st but if you order early, we are giving a $30 discount!  It's a comprehensive training program for beginners to run their first half marathon on the way to a potential first Ultra!
